Who is Dashi?

Dashi is a central character in the animated children’s series “Octonauts.” She is a female Dachshund who serves as the crew’s information technology officer, photographer, and pilot.

Dashi manages all the computers aboard the Octopod, monitors weather forecasts, and documents the team’s underwater adventures through photography. Her technical expertise and keen eye for detail are vital to the Octonauts’ missions.

In the original UK version of the series, Dashi is voiced by Teresa Gallagher, an American-born British voice actress known for her work in various animated series.

For the US audience, Dashi was initially voiced by Mary Murphy in the earlier seasons.

In later episodes, including “The Octonauts and the Caves of Sac Actun,” the role was taken over by Jenny Yokobori, a voice actress recognized for her roles in various animated series and video games.
