Who is Destiny?
Destiny is a character in Pixar’s animated film Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo. She is a lovable, near-sighted whale shark who becomes one of Dory’s friends and helps her on her journey to find her family.
Destiny lives at the Marine Life Institute and has a strong bond with Dory, having known her when they were both younger. Although Destiny struggles with her vision, she is determined and resourceful, and she uses her unique “whale speak” to communicate with Bailey, a beluga whale who becomes another of Dory’s friends.
Destiny is voiced by actress and comedian Kaitlin Olson, known for her roles in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Mick. Olson brings a humorous, warm, and heartfelt touch to Destiny, capturing the whale shark’s combination of clumsiness and confidence, which makes her a memorable and endearing character in Finding Dory.
