Who is Diablo?
Diablo is the pet raven of Maleficent, the main antagonist in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty (1959).
As Maleficent’s loyal companion, Diablo plays a crucial role in her plans to curse Princess Aurora and prevent her from breaking the spell. Diablo is often seen by Maleficent’s side, serving as her eyes and ears, and he is instrumental in helping her locate Aurora after she is hidden by the fairies.
Though he doesn’t speak, Diablo’s intelligence and cunning make him a valuable asset to Maleficent. His character adds a layer of depth to Maleficent’s evil persona, and his loyalty to her is clear throughout the film. In the final scenes, Diablo tries to alert Maleficent’s other minions, only to be turned to stone by the good fairies as they try to thwart Maleficent’s plans.
