Who is Digger the Mole?

Digger the Mole is a minor character in Disney’s animated film The Rescuers. He is part of the community of swamp creatures who come together to assist Bernard and Miss Bianca in rescuing Penny from the clutches of the villainous Madame Medusa.

Digger is known for his humorous, mole-like qualities, including his affinity for digging and a rather timid personality. Though he doesn’t play a large role, he adds charm and comic relief to the film’s swamp scenes.

Digger was voiced by veteran actor George Lindsey, who also famously voiced Trigger the vulture in Robin Hood and provided the voice for Lafayette the hound in The Aristocats. Lindsey brought his Southern drawl and comedic timing to the character, giving Digger a warm, likable quality that fit well within the ensemble cast of animal allies in The Rescuers.
