Who is Django?

Django is a character in Pixar’s animated film Ratatouille. He is the father of Remy, the film’s main character, and the leader of the rat colony.

Django is depicted as a practical, cautious, and somewhat skeptical character, particularly regarding Remy’s fascination with humans and his desire to cook. He tries to impart a survival-based worldview to his son, often reminding him that humans pose a danger to rats. Despite his initial reluctance to embrace Remy’s dream, Django cares deeply for his son and ultimately supports him.

Django was voiced by the late American actor Brian Dennehy. Known for his roles in films like Tommy Boy, First Blood, and Cocoon, Dennehy brought a warm, authoritative tone to Django, capturing the character’s blend of toughness and paternal love.
