Who is Georges Hautecourt?
Georges Hautecourt is a fictional character from the 1970 Disney animated film “The Aristocats.” He is an elderly lawyer and friend of Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, the owner of the aristocratic feline family the film revolves around. Hautecourt is voiced by actor Charles Lane.
In the film, Georges Hautecourt is enlisted by Madame Bonfamille to oversee her will, which includes leaving her entire fortune to her cats, Duchess and her three kittens, Berlioz, Toulouse, and Marie. However, Madame Bonfamille’s butler, Edgar, wants to inherit the fortune himself and tries to get rid of the cats. Georges Hautecourt appears several times throughout the film, providing comedic relief with his forgetfulness and his bumbling attempts to keep up with the cats’ antics.
