Who is Gill?
Gill is a character from the 2003 animated Disney-Pixar film Finding Nemo. He is a Moorish idol fish who resides in a fish tank at a dentist’s office in Sydney, Australia.
With a distinct scar on his right side, Gill is a seasoned and tough fish who has attempted numerous escapes from the tank. He’s considered a leader among the other aquarium fish and is known for his courage, resilience, and occasional risky ideas. Driven by a desire for freedom, Gill becomes a mentor to Nemo, sharing with him the dream of returning to the ocean and nurturing Nemo’s own hopes of escape. Although he has faced setbacks and hardships, his persistence and ambition continue to fuel his determination to lead his companions to freedom.
Gill’s character was voiced by actor Willem Dafoe, known for his intense and versatile acting style, which brought depth and edge to Gill’s character.
