Who is Gladys ?

Gladys was a memorable character in Disney Channel’s Bunk’d, a spin-off of the popular series Jessie.

Known for her eccentric and often abrasive personality, Gladys is the camp director of Camp Kikiwaka, a summer camp in Moose Rump, Maine, where much of the show’s antics take place. She has a deep-seated rivalry with Christina Ross, the mother of the Ross kids, who previously attended Camp Kikiwaka in her youth.

This rivalry fuels much of Gladys’ jealousy and resentment, leading her to treat the Ross children with hostility and sarcasm. Gladys is portrayed as lazy and frequently shirks her responsibilities, leaving much of the camp’s daily operations to her niece Hazel, though her management style is anything but effective. Her unpredictable behavior and disdain for the Ross family make her both a comic antagonist and a quirky obstacle for the campers and staff.

Gladys is played by Mary Scheer, a talented comedic actress known for her expressive roles. Mary Scheer has a rich background in comedy, including her work on shows like MADtv and Nickelodeon’s iCarly, where she played Freddie’s overprotective mother.
