Who is Gramps?

Gramps is a minor character from Disney’s animated film The Rescuers, released in 1977. He is a wise, elderly turtle who lives in the Devil’s Bayou and is part of the animal community that helps the main protagonists, Bernard and Miss Bianca, in their mission to rescue the young girl, Penny.

Although Gramps doesn’t have a major role, he embodies the spirit of the bayou community that provides support and a sense of family to those who live there. His slow but endearing nature and old-fashioned wisdom add to the atmosphere of warmth and resilience among the animals who stand up against the villainous Madame Medusa.
