Who is Hiram Flaversham?
Hiram Flaversham is a fictional character from the Disney animated film “The Great Mouse Detective” (1986). He is the father of the main character, Olivia Flaversham, and the owner of a clock shop in London. He is kidnapped by the villainous Professor Ratigan, and Olivia enlists the help of a mouse detective named Basil to rescue him.
Hiram is a kind and loving father who is deeply concerned for his daughter’s safety, and is determined to return to her. The film is loosely based on the children’s book “Basil of Baker Street” by Eve Titus and is directed by Ron Clements and Burny Mattinson. The film was not a big commercial success but it was well-received by critics and audience.
