Who is Hit Cat the English Cat?
Hit Cat, the English Cat, is a minor character from Disney’s animated film The Aristocats (1970). He’s one of the alley cats who befriends the main characters, Duchess and her three kittens, and helps them navigate the challenges they face after being abandoned by their butler, Edgar.
Hit Cat is known for his distinctive British accent, which sets him apart from the other cats in the alley cat gang. His appearance also reflects the British mod culture of the time: he sports shaggy, light-colored fur and wears sunglasses, embodying the laid-back, rock ‘n’ roll vibe of the 1960s and early 1970s.
Hit Cat plays guitar in Scat Cat’s jazz band, adding a groovy element to the group’s lively musical performance, especially in the iconic song “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat.” His guitar riffs bring a unique rock edge to the band’s jazzy tune, and his personality is as cool as his style, contributing to the scene’s upbeat and energetic vibe.
The character of Hit Cat was voiced by Lord Tim Hudson, a British-American actor known for his work as a DJ and comedian. Hudson’s smooth, British accent and cool demeanor perfectly captured Hit Cat’s laid-back, groovy personality.
