Who is Jake?
Jake is a charming and daring kangaroo rat who appears in The Rescuers Down Under, the 1990 sequel to Disney’s 1977 film The Rescuers. He lives in the Australian Outback, where he works as a local operative for the Rescue Aid Society, an organization dedicated to helping those in need.
With his adventurous spirit, Jake quickly becomes an essential ally to Bernard and Miss Bianca, the film’s main characters who travel from the United States to Australia to rescue a young boy named Cody from a poacher named McLeach.
Jake is known for his resourcefulness, bravery, and confidence, all of which are conveyed through his distinct Australian accent. He’s fearless in the face of danger and has extensive knowledge of the Outback, guiding Bernard and Miss Bianca through various treacherous landscapes. His confident personality occasionally causes tension with Bernard, especially when Jake shows interest in Miss Bianca, leading to moments of humorous rivalry between the two. Jake’s courage and expertise in survival make him a valuable ally to Bernard and Miss Bianca.
The character of Jake was voiced by actor Tristan Rogers, who brings a lively energy and authentic Australian accent to the role.
