Who is King Richard?

King Richard, often referred to as King Richard the Lionheart, is a character in Disney’s animated film “Robin Hood,” released in 1973. The film is a classic retelling of the Robin Hood legend, with anthropomorphic animals taking on the roles of the characters.

King Richard, voiced by actor Peter Ustinov, is depicted as a regal and noble lion, befitting his nickname, “the Lionheart.” He is the rightful ruler of Nottingham and the father of Prince John, who serves as the main antagonist of the film.
