Who is Mr. Big?

Mr. Big is a key supporting character in Disney’s Zootopia, released in 2016. He is a shrew and the feared leader of an underground crime syndicate in Zootopia.

Despite his small stature, Mr. Big is known for his immense influence and commanding presence, often compared to a mob boss straight out of a classic mafia movie. His character is a loving nod to Don Vito Corleone from The Godfather, complete with a raspy voice and a penchant for granting or denying favors in a dramatic manner.

Mr. Big is introduced as a figure of both humor and intimidation, wielding power through loyalty and fear. One of the film’s funniest and most memorable moments comes when he almost has Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde “iced” for offending him, only to change his mind after discovering that Judy had saved his daughter, Fru Fru. This act earns the duo his protection, and he later helps them in their investigation.

Maurice LaMarche, an acclaimed voice actor known for his roles in Pinky and the Brain and Futurama, provided Mr. Big’s voice.
