Who is Mulan?
Mulan is a fictional character and the main protagonist of Disney’s 1998 animated feature film Mulan. She is based on the legendary Chinese warrior Hua Mulan from the poem “The Ballad of Mulan”. The story is about a young woman who disguises herself as a man to take her father’s place in the army and fight the invading Huns. Mulan is known for her courage, determination, and selflessness. She is also a skilled warrior and a role model of bravery, breaking gender barriers and standing up for her family and her country.
She was voiced by actress Ming-Na Wen and her singing voice was provided by Lea Salong, who was also the singing voice of Jasmine in Aladdin.
