Who is Napoleon the Bloodhound?

Napoleon is a bloodhound character from Disney’s animated film The Aristocats (1970). He is one of the two dogs living in the French countryside who encounter Edgar, the butler, during his attempts to dispose of Duchess and her kittens. Along with his companion, Lafayette, a basset hound, Napoleon serves as comic relief in the movie, providing several humorous moments.

Napoleon is characterized by his overconfidence and belief that he is in charge, often declaring, “I’m the leader!” despite Lafayette frequently making the correct observations. The two dogs are protective of their territory and spring into action when they hear Edgar approaching on his motorcycle, believing him to be an intruder. Their interactions with Edgar are marked by slapstick humor, with Edgar struggling to fend them off while trying to carry out his nefarious plan.
