Who is Nessus?

Nessus is a character in the 1997 Disney animated film “Hercules.” He is a centaur who works as a ferryman, transporting people across the river Styx. Nessus is depicted as being greedy and manipulative, and he takes advantage of his position as ferryman to extort money from travelers. He plays a minor role in the film and serves as an antagonist to Hercules, who encounters him during his journey. Nessus is ultimately defeated by Hercules, who shows him the error of his ways and convinces him to reform.
