Who is Pete Junior?
Pete Junior, affectionately known as “P.J.,” is a central character in Goof Troop, a popular animated Disney television series that aired in the early 1990s. He is the son of Pete, Goofy’s often grumpy and scheming neighbor, and Peg, Pete’s level-headed and kind-hearted wife.
P.J. is depicted as a kind-hearted, polite, and somewhat shy boy who frequently finds himself caught between his father’s domineering nature and his own desire to simply enjoy life and be a good friend. He is the best friend of Max Goof, Goofy’s son, and the duo share a strong bond, often embarking on adventures and navigating the challenges of childhood and adolescence together.
Despite being the son of a somewhat overbearing father, P.J. exhibits traits that set him apart. He is compassionate, loyal, and empathetic, often serving as a grounding influence on Max’s wilder schemes. His dynamic with Max provides much of the heart and humor of the series.
P.J. was voiced by the talented Rob Paulsen, an acclaimed voice actor known for his extensive work in animation, including roles in Animaniacs and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
