Pip and Pop (Bear in the Big Blue House)
Last Updated on: December 29th, 2024
Who is Pip and Pop?
Pip and Pop are two inseparable purple otters from the children’s television series Bear in the Big Blue House. They reside at the Otter Pond behind the Big Blue House and are known for their playful and energetic personalities. Their love for clams is a defining trait, with Pip favoring steamed clams and Pop preferring stuffed clams.
The duo often speaks or sings in unison, showcasing their close bond. While they appear almost identical, subtle differences exist: Pop’s ears are slightly higher, and his eyes are larger and closer together than Pip’s. This distinction is remembered by the phrase “Pop’s ears are on top.”
Their shared birthday and mutual grandparents, Otto and Etta Otter, further highlight their close relationship. Pip and Pop were brought to life by puppeteers Peter Linz and Tyler Bunch, respectively.
