Who is Sour Bill?
Sour Bill is a supporting character in Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph (2012) and its sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018). He is a small, round, green sour candy who serves as King Candy’s loyal assistant in the Sugar Rush video game. His personality matches his name—he is perpetually sour-faced, curt, and often humorless, speaking in a deadpan tone. Despite his dour demeanor, Sour Bill proves to be a complex character, caught between loyalty to King Candy (later revealed to be Turbo) and his underlying awareness of the truth about the kingdom’s corruption.
Sour Bill is primarily responsible for managing Sugar Rush’s day-to-day operations, including enforcing King Candy’s decrees. He plays a significant role in the plot by revealing critical information to Ralph under duress—namely, that Vanellope von Schweetz is the rightful ruler of Sugar Rush and that King Candy erased her memory and status as a glitch to seize power.
The character is voiced by Rich Moore, who is also the director of Wreck-It Ralph. Moore’s dry, understated performance perfectly encapsulates Sour Bill’s sardonic tone, making the character memorable despite his minor role in the films.
