Who is Toby Turtle?
Toby Turtle is a charming and minor character from Disney’s classic animated film Robin Hood (1973). He is a young turtle who lives in the village of Nottingham and is a loyal friend to Skippy Rabbit and his siblings.
Toby is known for his shy demeanor, gentle voice, and endearing personality, which adds a layer of sweetness to the group of animal children. His interactions often bring a touch of humor and innocence to the story, particularly in the scenes where the children dream about heroism or playact Robin Hood’s adventures.
One of Toby’s standout moments occurs during the archery tournament scene, where he and his friends cheer for Robin Hood disguised as a stork. His innocence and youthful enthusiasm reflect the hopefulness of the villagers, despite the oppressive rule of Prince John. Toby also provides comic relief, often getting caught up in the playful antics of his friends.
The voice of Toby Turtle was provided by Richie Sanders, whose youthful tone perfectly captured the character’s endearing qualities.
