Who is Yax?
Yax is a character from Disney’s animated film “Zootopia,” released in 2016. In the vibrant city of Zootopia, which is inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, Yax is the laid-back and free-spirited owner of a naturalist club called the Mystic Springs Oasis.
Yax is a yak with a distinctive appearance, sporting long hair and a carefree, hippie-like demeanor. He is known for his Zen philosophy, love for nature, and his belief in living a peaceful and harmonious life. He’s often seen in the film wearing very little clothing, as he prefers to embrace his natural self.
In the story, Judy Hopps, a young and ambitious rabbit police officer, seeks information from Yax about a missing otter. Yax proves to be an eccentric character who provides Judy with some cryptic yet ultimately helpful advice.
