Zeus is a prominent character in Disney’s animated film “Hercules,” released in 1997. He is based on the character from Greek mythology and plays a significant role in the story.

In the film, Zeus is the ruler of Mount Olympus and the most powerful of all the Greek gods. He is voiced by actor Rip Torn. Zeus is portrayed as a wise and benevolent deity who has a strong sense of justice. He is also the father of Hercules, the film’s protagonist.

Zeus and his wife Hera, the queen of the gods, adopt Hercules as their son after he is stolen from them as a baby by Hades, the film’s villain. Zeus hopes that Hercules will become a true hero and regain his place on Mount Olympus, as he was stripped of his godhood by Hades’ evil scheme.

Throughout the movie, Zeus watches over Hercules and provides guidance and encouragement. He also plays a key role in the climactic battle against Hades and the Titans, where he demonstrates his immense power by wielding thunderbolts.
