“Hocus Pocus 2” is a sequel to the 1993 film “Hocus Pocus,” continuing the comedic and fantastical adventures surrounding witchcraft and magic. The sequel, directed by Anne Fletcher, was released on September 30, 2022, on Disney+. The movie falls under the genres of comedy, family, and fantasy, and sees the return of the notorious Sanderson Sisters to modern-day Salem due to the actions of two young women. The main objective for the characters is to figure out how to prevent the child-hungry witches from causing mayhem in the world​.

In this continuation, it’s been 29 years since the Black Flame Candle was lit, resurrecting the 17th-century witch sisters who are now seeking revenge. The responsibility falls on three high-school students to tackle the menacing threat posed by the witches​.

The film stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, reprising their roles as the Sanderson Sisters, alongside other cast members like Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, Hannah Waddingham, Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, Lilia Buckingham, Froy Gutierrez, and Tony Hale​.

“Hocus Pocus 2” carries the humorous and whimsical tone of its predecessor, bringing back the iconic characters in a new story set in a contemporary era, blending the magical with the modern in a family-friendly narrative filled with laughs and spooky excitement.
