Phantom Boats | Disneyland

Last Updated on: March 26th, 2024

The Phantom Boats was a former attraction at Disneyland that opened in 1955 and closed in 1993. The attraction was located in Fantasyland and consisted of small motor boats that guests could drive around a waterway filled with rock formations, waterfalls, and other themed elements.

Each boat was equipped with a small outboard motor and a steering wheel, and guests were responsible for navigating their boats around the waterway. The ride was considered to be a leisurely and relaxing attraction, and was popular with families and younger guests.

Over the years, the ride underwent a number of changes and updates, including the addition of new theming elements and a re-naming to “The Motor Boat Cruise.” However, by the 1990s, the ride was considered to be outdated and was not as popular as it once was. It closed in 1993 to make way for the new Mickey’s Toontown area, which remains a popular attraction at the park to this day.
