Disneyland Paris, originally known as Euro Disneyland, is a world-class resort and theme park complex located in Marne-la-Vallée, a suburb of Paris, France. It is the second Disney resort to be built outside the United States and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Europe. Spanning over 4,800 acres, Disneyland Paris encompasses two theme parks, several hotels, a shopping and dining district, and a golf course.
The resort was officially opened on April 12, 1992, after several years of planning and construction. It was the result of a collaboration between The Walt Disney Company and the French government, who envisioned creating a magical destination that would bring the beloved Disney characters and stories to Europe.
Disneyland Paris consists of two main theme parks:
- Disneyland Park: Modeled after the original Disneyland in California, Disneyland Park is a fantasyland divided into five themed lands: Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Discoveryland. The park features iconic attractions like Sleeping Beauty Castle, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and It’s a Small World, as well as parades, live entertainment, and character meet-and-greets.
- Walt Disney Studios Park: Opened in 2002, Walt Disney Studios Park is dedicated to the magic of filmmaking and offers guests a behind-the-scenes look at the world of movies and animation. The park is divided into four studio lots: Front Lot, Toon Studio, Production Courtyard, and Backlot. It features attractions like Ratatouille: The Adventure, Crush’s Coaster, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Beyond the theme parks, Disneyland Paris offers a range of hotels and accommodations to suit different budgets and preferences. The resort’s seven Disney Hotels are themed to transport guests into various Disney stories and settings. Additionally, there are several partner hotels on the resort property, providing even more lodging options.
Disney Village is the resort’s entertainment, shopping, and dining district. It offers a vibrant atmosphere with restaurants, shops, live music, and entertainment options, making it the perfect place for guests to unwind after a day at the parks.
Throughout the year, Disneyland Paris hosts special events, seasonal celebrations, and spectacular fireworks displays to add even more magic to the guest experience.
Disneyland Paris is not only a destination for European visitors but also attracts guests from all over the world who come to experience the enchantment and charm of Disney in a unique European setting. It continues to be a dream destination for families, Disney enthusiasts, and adventure-seekers alike, offering a world of magic and imagination in the heart of Europe.
