“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is the highly anticipated next chapter in the storied “Planet of the Apes” franchise, scheduled for release on May 10, 2024. The film is directed by Wes Ball, known for his work on the “Maze Runner” series, who promises a narrative imbued with the spirit of a quest, akin to the adventurous vibe of “Star Wars.” Set many years after the events of “War for the Planet of the Apes,” this installment will not be a reboot but will continue to explore the legacy of Caesar, the renowned ape leader.Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

The story will follow a young ape named Noa, portrayed by Owen Teague, who embarks on a journey that leads him to discover the legacy of Caesar and confront his own destiny. The screenplay is a collaborative effort by Amanda Silver, Rick Jaffa, Josh Friedman, and Patrick Aison, all of whom have experience crafting expansive sci-fi universes.

“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” stands as not only a continuation of the saga but also the beginning of a new trilogy that seeks to honor the original while paving new paths for the iconic apes and their intertwined history with humanity. The film wrapped up shooting in February 2023, and while a teaser trailer has been released, it offers just a glimpse into the aesthetic and tone of the upcoming film, stoking curiosity and excitement for what’s to come in this enduring cinematic universe​​​​.
