‘Moana 2’: Auli’i Cravalho Is Definitely Returning To Disney Sequel

Auli’i Cravalho confirms her return to the “Moana” sequel, alongside Dwayne Johnson as Maui. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced “Moana 2” for a Thanksgiving release on November 27, following the success of a Moana Disney+ series.

Directed by Dave Derrick Jr., with music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, nominee Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, the sequel promises continued exploration of Moana’s adventures. Despite opting out of a live-action version to ensure cultural accuracy, Cravalho, now an executive producer, is excited to pass on Moana’s legacy to a new actress representing Pacific Island cultures.
