“The Mysterious Benedict Society” is a mystery adventure television series based on Trenton Lee Stewart’s young adult novels. The show premiered on Disney+ on June 25, 2021, and concluded with its second season on December 6, 2022.

The narrative centers on four gifted orphans—Reynie Muldoon, George “Sticky” Washington, Kate Wetherall, and Constance Contraire—recruited by the enigmatic Mr. Benedict. Their mission is to infiltrate the L.I.V.E. Institute, a boarding school on Nomansan Island, to uncover the truth behind a global crisis known as “The Emergency.” The institute’s headmaster, Dr. L.D. Curtain, who bears a striking resemblance to Mr. Benedict, is suspected of orchestrating this worldwide panic. The children must employ their unique talents to thwart his nefarious plans.

Tony Hale delivers a dual performance as both Mr. Benedict and Dr. Curtain, with supporting roles by Kristen Schaal as Number Two, MaameYaa Boafo as Rhonda Kazembe, and Ryan Hurst as Milligan.

The series received favorable reviews for its engaging plot and strong performances. However, in January 2023, it was announced that the series would not continue beyond its second season.
