Who is Galen Erso?

Galen Erso is a character in the Star Wars franchise. He first appeared in the 2016 film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Galen Erso is a scientist who is an expert in energy production and is coerced by the Galactic Empire to work on the design of the Death Star superweapon. He is depicted as being a brilliant mind who is torn between his loyalty to his family and his desire to help stop the evil of the Empire. Galen Erso is a tragic figure who sacrifices his own life in order to ensure the eventual destruction of the Death Star and is portrayed by actor Mads Mikkelsen.
