Who is Lyra Erso?

Lyra Erso is a character in the Star Wars universe, specifically in the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“. She is the wife of Galen Erso, a scientist who is forced by the Empire to build the Death Star superweapon. Lyra is portrayed as a strong and loving mother to her daughter Jyn, and a fierce opponent of the Empire’s plans. She sacrifices herself to protect her daughter from Orson Krennic, the Director of Advanced Weapons Research for the Imperial Military, who is attempting to kidnap Galen to force him to complete the Death Star. She was played by Valene Kane.
