Who is Owen Lars?

Owen Lars is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. He is the stepbrother of the series’ protagonist, Luke Skywalker, and the adoptive uncle of Skywalker’s twin siblings, Leia and Luke. Owen Lars is introduced in the original Star Wars film as a moisture farmer on the planet Tatooine, where he and his wife, Beru, raise Luke after his father, Anakin Skywalker, becomes Darth Vader. In the Star Wars expanded universe, Owen Lars is further developed as a complex character who struggles to balance his obligations to his family and his loyalty to the Galactic Empire, which controls the planet where he lives. He is known for his practicality, determination, and protective nature toward Luke and his family. The character was played by Phil Brown.
