Who is RX-24?

RX-24, also known as “Rex,” is a droid pilot featured in the Star Wars-themed Disney Parks attraction Star Tours.

Rex is a quirky and somewhat inexperienced RX-series droid designed to pilot the Starspeeder 3000, the vehicle that takes guests on a thrilling space tour through the Star Wars galaxy. With a slightly clumsy and overenthusiastic personality, Rex inadvertently brings humor and excitement to the experience, as his lack of piloting experience sometimes leads to chaotic and unexpected turns on the journey.

Rex was originally voiced by actor Paul Reubens, famously known for his role as Pee-wee Herman. Reubens’s distinctive voice added a comedic edge to Rex, making him a fan-favorite character for many years. When Star Tours: The Adventures Continue was introduced as a reimagined version of the ride, Rex was replaced as the primary pilot, but he still made appearances and returned as a DJ in Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where he retains his humorous and high-energy personality.
