Big Star Wars Land Updates! (VIDEO)

At the big D23 Disney fan expo last night, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek, made some pretty stunning announcements related to the highly anticipated new Star Wars Land under construction at Disneyland and Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.

Among the revelations in Chapek’s contents was the confirmation that the Star Wars Land will open in both parks in 2019 (before the next D23, so pretty much in the first half of 2019), as well as, a sneak peek at a detailed model of what the new park area will look like.

More details about Star Wars Land are slated to be revealed in Saturday’s Walt Disney Parks and Resorts presentation at D23. I will be updating this post as news breaks, so stay tuned to DisneyNews.us for the latest!

Update 7/15/17: We now have a name for Star Wars Land- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Here is another video of the scale model of Galaxy’s Edge, which gives you a more immersive view of how it all will come together.
