Who is Afia?
Afia is a lioness introduced in Disney’s 2024 film “Mufasa: The Lion King,” which serves as both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake. She is the mate of Masego and the mother of Mufasa, the future king of the Pride Lands. Afia’s character embodies maternal strength and resilience, playing a pivotal role in Mufasa’s early life. When Mufasa was a cub, a flash flood tragically separated him from his parents, leading to Masego’s demise. Despite this loss, Afia persevered and eventually reached the fabled paradise of Milele.
