Archimedes Q. Porter is a character from Disney’s animated film “Tarzan” (1999) and its sequel “Tarzan & Jane” (2002). He is the father of Jane Porter and an explorer and scientist who is studying gorillas in the African jungle. He is a kind, loving, and eccentric father who is more interested in his scientific research than in the well-being of his daughter. He is also known for his absent-mindedness and forgetfulness. Archimedes is portrayed as a loving father who care for Jane and her safety, but also a bit of a scatterbrain and not always paying attention to his surroundings.
