Hector Barbossa is a fictional character from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He is one of the main antagonists of the series, appearing in the first, third, fourth and fifth films. He is a ruthless and cunning pirate captain, who was once a member of the crew of Captain Jack Sparrow. He is known for his distinctive look, which includes a peg leg and a hook for a hand. He is portrayed by the actor Geoffrey Rush.
