Who is Carlos?
Carlos is a minor character from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean theme park attraction and has made small appearances in other media inspired by the attraction.
Known for his humorous scene in the original Disneyland and Magic Kingdom rides, Carlos is a resident of the Caribbean island where pirates raid a town, and he famously resists the pirates’ interrogation despite their threats.
In the ride, Carlos is dunked repeatedly into a well by pirates who demand information, but he refuses to “tell them what they want to know.” His scene is iconic for his resilience and his wife’s memorable shout from a nearby window, imploring him “don’t be chicken.”
