Who is Darling?
In Lady and the Tramp, Darling is the loving and gentle owner of Lady, the Cocker Spaniel.
Darling is the wife of Jim Dear, and together they provide a warm, caring home for Lady. Her character embodies kindness and maternal warmth, especially as she navigates the changes in her life, like the arrival of a baby, which briefly leaves Lady feeling neglected. Despite this, Darling is devoted to both her family and Lady, creating a safe, nurturing environment that shapes Lady’s early experiences.
In the original 1955 animated Lady and the Tramp, Darling was voiced by actress Peggy Lee, who also voiced several other characters in the movie, such as the Siamese cats Si and Am.
