Who is Fritz?
Fritz is one of the lively, talkative hosts in Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, a classic Disney attraction featuring an enchanting mix of animatronics, music, and tropical ambiance.
Fritz, alongside José, Michael, and Pierre, is one of the four main macaws that lead the show. Each of these feathered hosts hails from a different part of the world, and Fritz represents Germany, with a strong German accent and a humorous, occasionally grumpy personality. Fritz’s character adds to the international flavor of the Tiki Room, creating a lighthearted and whimsical experience for guests with his banter and spirited performances.
The character of Fritz was originally voiced by the talented Thurl Ravenscroft, whose deep, resonant voice lent itself perfectly to Fritz’s distinctive, jovial-yet-boisterous German personality. Ravenscroft, best known as the voice behind Tony the Tiger in Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes commercials and for his bass vocal work in Disney’s The Haunted Mansion and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, brought a unique charm to Fritz that resonated with audiences.
