Who is King Leonidas?
King Leonidas is a character in the Disney live-action and animated hybrid film “Bedknobs and Broomsticks,” released in 1971. The film is a musical fantasy set during World War II and follows the adventures of three children who are evacuated from London to the English countryside, where they discover that their guardian, Miss Price, is an apprentice witch.
King Leonidas, voiced by actor Lennie Weinrib, is not a human character but rather an anthropomorphic lion who is a resident of the animated island of Naboombu. In the film, Miss Price and the children use a magical bed to travel to Naboombu, where they encounter various talking animals, including King Leonidas.
King Leonidas is the self-proclaimed king of Naboombu and a fan of soccer (football). He is known for his boisterous and jovial personality. The children and Miss Price become involved in a comical and chaotic soccer match with the animated animals on the island, with King Leonidas serving as the referee.
