Mowgli is a character from the Disney animated film “The Jungle Book,” which is based on a collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling.

In the Disney version, Mowgli is a young boy who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. He befriends a variety of animals, including Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, and learns valuable life lessons from them as he tries to find his place in the jungle. Mowgli is a curious and adventurous child, who ultimately decides to leave the jungle and return to the human world. The Disney version of Mowgli is voiced by actor Bruce Reitherman, who also Christopher Robin in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Disney’s “The Jungle Book” is estimated to take in $103 million in the US and close to $300 million globally in box office sales for opening weekend. Pretty impressive start to 2016 for Disney.
