Who is Mungo?
Mungo is a minor character in Disney’s animated film Tarzan, released in 1999. He is a member of the gorilla troop led by Kerchak and Kala. Mungo is depicted as a young and enthusiastic gorilla who is particularly curious and adventurous.
While he doesn’t play a central role in the story, he contributes to the dynamics of the gorilla group, showcasing the diverse personalities within the troop. His youthful energy and playful demeanor help bring depth and charm to the ensemble of animal characters, highlighting the tight-knit family structure of Tarzan’s adoptive community.
Mungo is voiced by actor and comedian Jason Marsden, who is known for lending his voice to several Disney projects and other animated series. Marsden’s vocal performance gives Mungo a lively and endearing personality, making him memorable despite his limited screen time. Jason Marsden’s versatility as a voice actor has made him a frequent contributor to Disney productions, with roles in projects like A Goofy Movie (as Max Goof’s singing voice) and The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride (as Kovu’s cub voice).
