Who is Rancis Fluggerbutter?
Rancis Fluggerbutter is a minor character in Disney’s animated films “Wreck-It Ralph” (2012) and its sequel, “Ralph Breaks the Internet” (2018). He is one of the racers in the arcade game “Sugar Rush,” a candy-themed racing game within the movie’s universe.
Rancis’s character design is inspired by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, evident in his attire and vehicle. His signature kart, the “Kit Kart,” is a play on the Kit Kat candy bar, aligning with the confectionery theme of the game.
In “Wreck-It Ralph,” Rancis is initially portrayed as one of the racers who, under the influence of King Candy, bullies Vanellope von Schweetz due to her status as a glitch. He is often seen alongside fellow racers Taffyta Muttonfudge and Candlehead, forming a trio that antagonizes Vanellope. Despite his involvement in the bullying, Rancis’s character is depicted as dedicated and somewhat vain, frequently checking his reflection and displaying a competitive nature.
In the sequel, “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” Rancis continues his role as a racer in “Sugar Rush.” When the game’s steering wheel breaks, leading to the game’s temporary shutdown, Rancis and the other racers are left without a home. They are taken in by Fix-It Felix Jr. and Sergeant Calhoun, who adopt the racers and care for them until “Sugar Rush” is restored.
The character of Rancis Fluggerbutter is voiced by actor Jamie Elman. Elman’s portrayal brings a youthful and energetic quality to Rancis, capturing his competitive spirit and occasional vanity.
