Who is Razoul?

Razoul is a character from Disney’s 1992 animated classic, Aladdin. He is the head of the Sultan’s guards in the kingdom of Agrabah and serves as an antagonist in the film.

Loyal to the Sultan, Razoul is portrayed as stern, no-nonsense, and somewhat dim-witted, often clashing with Aladdin due to the latter’s penchant for getting into trouble. Despite his dedication to enforcing the law, Razoul’s actions are sometimes misguided, as he blindly follows the orders of the manipulative Jafar, the Sultan’s vizier.

Razoul is recognizable for his towering stature, thick mustache, and menacing demeanor, making him a notable secondary villain in the Aladdin franchise. He reappears in the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar (1994) and the television series that followed. However, Razoul’s character also shows comedic moments, particularly when he overestimates his authority or is outwitted by Aladdin and his friends.

In the original film, Razoul is voiced by Jim Cummings, a veteran voice actor known for his extensive work in Disney productions, including characters like Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.
