Who is Roz?

Roz is a beloved character from Disney-Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. franchise, known for her sharp wit, no-nonsense demeanor, and unforgettable raspy voice. She serves as the administrator of Scare Floor F at Monsters, Inc., and also secretly operates as the leader of the Child Detection Agency (CDA), an organization tasked with protecting the monster world from human contamination. Roz’s distinct personality is characterized by her monotone delivery, stern expressions, and her iconic line, “I’m watching you, Wazowski. Always watching.”

In Monsters, Inc. (2001), Roz initially appears to be a gruff and overly critical bureaucrat, frequently berating Mike Wazowski for failing to complete his paperwork. However, by the end of the film, her role is revealed to be much more significant when her secret identity as the head of the CDA is uncovered. Roz also makes appearances in other franchise installments, such as Monsters University and the Disney+ series Monsters at Work.

The voice behind Roz is Bob Peterson, a Pixar veteran who also worked as a screenwriter and story supervisor on Monsters, Inc..
