Who is Slightly?

Slightly is one of the Lost Boys in J.M. Barrie’s classic story Peter Pan.

Known for his slightly conceited nature and tendency to exaggerate, Slightly often claims to be smarter or more important than he actually is. Despite this, he is endearing and loyal, always eager to join Peter Pan and the other Lost Boys in their adventures. His character adds a touch of humor and charm to the group dynamic, showcasing the diverse personalities within the band of boys who never grow up.

In Disney’s 1953 animated Peter Pan, Slightly is depicted as a fox, complete with a tail and ears in his outfit, symbolizing his sly but likable personality. While the Disney film does not deeply explore his backstory, Slightly is present in many of the group scenes and remains a part of the ensemble that fights Captain Hook alongside Peter.

In live-action and stage productions, the role of Slightly has been portrayed by various actors, often young performers or those adept at playing youthful, whimsical characters. Notably, Slightly was played by Theodore Chester in the 2003 live-action film adaptation Peter Pan.
