Disney Reveals McKim’s Mile House: First Look at New DVC Lounge in Magic Kingdom

Published on 11/19/24 by Craig Smith

Disney has unveiled the name and concept art for its forthcoming Disney Vacation Club (DVC) lounge in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland: McKim’s Mile House. Scheduled to open in summer 2025, this lounge will offer DVC members a rustic retreat inspired by Gold Rush-era boarding houses.

The lounge’s name honors Disney Legend Sam McKim, a former Western film actor turned Imagineer, whose artistic contributions significantly influenced the design of Frontierland. McKim is renowned for creating the original Disneyland souvenir maps and contributing to attractions like Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Replacing the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which closed on June 23, 2024, McKim’s Mile House will feature comfortable seating, complimentary soft drinks via Coke Freestyle machines, Wi-Fi access, charging stations, a children’s entertainment area, and on-site Member Services. Access will require a valid DVC Membership Card and photo ID, with members permitted to bring up to four guests or the number listed on their resort reservation.

This addition marks the first DVC member-exclusive space within Magic Kingdom, providing a convenient and themed respite for members amid their park adventures.
