Even More Big Changes Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Published on 8/18/17 by Craig Smith
With everyone pumped up about next year’s opening of the new Toy Story Land and 2019’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (aka Star Wars Land), Disney added to the excitement yesterday with the announcement of a third new park area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This fall, the area currently known as the Muppets Courtyard, along with part of the old Streets of America section, will be re-titled and re-imagined as “Grand Avenue” with the actual courtyard section being referred to as “Grand Park.”
According to Disney Parks, ” Guests will soon see facades for “merchants” appearing in this area for a music shop, loft apartments, a tailor and more, with each window on the street featuring charming displays.” In addition to the new name, a few changes include the addition of a new restaurant, the BaseLine Tap House, located where the F&B had been, and the re-naming of the Muppets theater to the” Grand Arts Theatre.” Disney is quick to assure us though that the MuppetVision 3D show isn’t going to be impacted.
I am sure there will be much more released about Grand Avenue in the coming weeks. I will be adding updates here and also taking plenty of pictures when I am back down there in December, so be sure to check back soon.
