Who is Darth Sidious?
Darth Sidious is a character in the Star Wars franchise. He is the primary antagonist of the prequel trilogy and is one of the most iconic villains in the Star Wars universe. Darth Sidious is the Sith Lord who serves as the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, using his political power to manipulate events and ultimately bring about the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. He is also the master of Darth Maul and later, Darth Vader, and is responsible for training them in the ways of the dark side of the Force. Darth Sidious is portrayed by actor Ian McDiarmid in the films.
